NOV. 13 Chocolate Extravaganza McDonough Capital Management 6:00 pm An evening of chocolate dessert tasting from Marion and Citrus County restaurants and caterers to benefit the Dunnellon Chamber of Commerce. Tickets available for $5.00 per person prior to the event or $8.00 at the door. Pick up your tickets at Dunnellon Area Chamber of Commerce or online at www.myboomtown.info NOV. 15 Indoor Yard Sale & Outdoor Flea Market Wall-Rives Post 58 American Legion, Hwy 41, Dunnellon (North of Wal-Mart) To benefit Quilts of Valor. Breakfast served 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. includes French toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice for $4.00. NOV. 15 Music on the Grounds Rainbow Springs State Park 7:00 pm Musical Host Nathan Witt and open mic. NOV. 19 Folk Art in the United States Dunnellon Public Library 1:00 pm Meet the author Kristin Condgon. Books include artists fromLatin American Culture, and 20th Century photographes. She will refer to her co-authored book "Just Above Water". NOV. 21-22 The Secret River Dunnellon Middle School The third annual season of The Secret River, an adaptation of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings children's book, will be performed. Show times are Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m, and Sunday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m.Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and are available now by calling 489-6756 or visiting www.vsdance.com. NOV. 29 Victorian Holiday Festival Dunnellon's Historic Village 1:00 - 9:00 pm Christmas Carolers, horse and carriage rides and live music throughout the neighborhood. 1:00 - 5:00 Kid's games, decorate a cookie, sidewalk chalk art contest. Shops open until 9:00 pm for your holiday shopping pleasure. |

December DEC. 6 Christmas Bazaar Stuff and Company Craft Group St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Many of your favorite crafters will be there along with several new skilled artisans who will be selling a wide variety of hand made goods. Refreshments available. DEC. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 & 21 SANTA OVER THE RAINBOW Friends of Rainbow Springs Santa over the Rainbow will be held December 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 from sunset to 8:30pm and Santa over the Rainbow: Lights Only will be showcased on December 26 and 27. Bring a child or become a child yourself for this one of a kind experience. Walk through the wonderland of lights that decorate the headsprings area of Rainbow Springs State Park. See Mr. and Mrs. Clause come up the Rainbow River on a lighted boat and head towards their cottage where pictures are taken. Visit with Santa’s elves and listen to carols. Visit the Friends of Rainbow Springs; see the real Mr. and Mrs. Clause during their Florida stay and feel the magic of the season. Gates open at sunset and close at 8:30p.m. 2009 January JAN. 11 Sunday Sampler Concert Series Dunnellon Depot 2:30 pm An all girl group from Gainewville, weaves delightful, intricate harmonies in their original compositions and old favorites. $8.00 admission includes refreshments. Greater Dunnellon Historical Society The Dunnellon Train Depot is open each Tuesday from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Stop by for refreshments and a game of dominoes, reminisce about simpler times, or help identify the hundreds of faces in photographs from Dunnellon's past. First Saturday Village Market Vendors of every type will be showcasing their wares, from antiques, produce, food to jewelry and crafts. 9 am - 2 pm the first Saturday of every month in the historic district. Friends of Rainbow Springs State Park Join the Friends of Rainbow Springs and your friends and neighbors the 3rd Saturday of each month after sunset for Music on the Grounds. Bring your coffee mug, a chair, and get ready to enjoy the best music Dunnellon has to offer. Every month Music on the Grounds hosted by a different musician and then followed by open mic. Don’t forget your instrument, your family friendly comedy, or your favorite poem! Take some time to enjoy the view of the beautiful headwaters of the Rainbow River or admire the stars. Tickets are only $2.00 per person. TOPS TOPS NO. FL 443, Dunnellon "Take Off Pounds Sensibly" meets Thursdays at the Masonic Temple on Williams Rd. Weigh in at 6pm and meeting at 7 pm. Call 489-5641 or 489-1960 for more information. Dunnellon Public Library Family Story times on the third Tuesday of every month through Nov. 18 for children ages 0-6 and those who care for them. The program runs from 6 pm to 7:30 pm and is free. Contact children's librarian Maricelli Roberts at 438-2520 for additonal information. Abigail's Cafe & Coffee Shop 2nd Thursday of each month 6 - 9 pm Visit Abigail's Cafe and Coffee Shop to listen to Dunnellon's local talent. Bring your voice, your poems, an instrument, or you just bring your ears. This is an open mic event! Abigail's does serve beer and wine. You may also sit outdoors on the lawn so bring a blanket or a chair. Health Education Meetings Rainbow Springs Country Club Patti Keller, RN, certified diabetes educator, will hold monthly meetins the fourth Friday of each month.
